Your Caregivers

At Dayton Heart Hospital, people with specialized skills and training in the vital area of Heart Health are here to meet your needs. They work as a team with one goal - to ensure you have the best medical care and comfort. Anyone who enters your room to provide you with care or assistance has an identification badge with their name and photo on it.

Attending Physicians

Your attending physician carefully directs your treatment at Dayton Heart Hospital. Your physician often consults with other doctors to ensure you receive the best care. Your doctor also may consult other members of the healthcare team to provide diagnostic tests or treatments.

Nursing Staff

Your nurse spends more time with you during your hospital stay than any other member of the healthcare team. Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, patient care technicians partners, certified nursing assistants and student nurses all may help care for you. The nursing staff is assisted by unit secretaries. The clinical nurse manager Our highly trained staff will provide you with a level of care unlike most hospitals.

With over 17 years of experience our average nurse is well versed in the latest in cardiac care medications and equipment. At Dayton Heart Hospital nurses are continually learning. Our unique educational ladder for nursing education is emulated at several hospital across the country. This means quality care with an experience, compassionate touch.is responsible for the nursing staff and patient care activities on the unit.

Case Management & Chaplains

Case Managers can help you and your family cope with personal, non-medical, and medical concerns that may arise while you are in the hospital. The Case Managers also work with your insurance providers to act as a liaison between the provider and the care team. This allows us to provide the best care in the most cost efficient manner. In addition, a chaplain is available any time, day or night. Both case managers and chaplains can assist you with advance directives. If you need home health care after you leave the hospital, continuity of care we can help arrange for these services.

Allied Healthcare Professionals

Medical technologists, radiographers and nuclear medicine technicians are trained to use state-of-the-art medical equipment to perform diagnostic tests. Instead of being taken by a tech to the waiting area of the department, in most cases the tech will bring the test to your room. Any equipment that can be moved comes to you! No more waiting in a hallway or public area as in the typical hospital setting. Our structure revolves around one thing-you.

Therapists

Respiratory therapists, occupational and physical therapists are trained to use modern techniques and equipment to detect, prevent and treat complications caused by illness or injury. These professionals may care for you during your stay at Dayton Heart Hospital.

Nutrition Staff

Registered, licensed dietitians and dietetic technicians are members of the nutrition staff. They will assess your nutrition status and may consult with your doctor to provide needed nutrition therapy. To help prepare you to go home, they can provide counseling. Talk to your nurse or doctor if you would like to meet with a dietitian. Our Dietary Hostesses will help provide you with food choices that your physician allows. After your order is taken, they will personally work with the kitchen staff to deliver your meal to your satisfaction.

Patient Escort

Our patient escort staff provides you with safe and comfortable transport to and from testing areas throughout our facility. To ensure you arrive at the testing area on time, you may be taken by way of "Patient Only" elevators, which also provide you with a high degree of privacy.

Housekeeping Services

It is the responsibility of the Housekeeping staff to provide you with a clean, safe and pleasant environment. We strive to maintain an atmosphere conducive to the health, safety and well-being of our patients, staff, visitors and all others at Dayton Heart Hospital . Our goal is to support our primary caregivers as they deliver quality medical care.

Volunteers

Volunteers donate their time to help make your stay at the hospital more comfortable. They can be recognized by their hospital issued uniform jackets.
