Each year, heart disease kills more people than any other disease. As much as 40 percent of every healthcare dollar is spent fighting the problem, and everyone is seeking a solution. Patients want new and better ways of healing. So do physicians. Community and business leaders want to reduce the impact heart disease has on society. Managed care groups want to lessen the financial impact of heart disease without sacrificing quality of care.

Enter the Dayton Heart Hospital, and the solution we bring. Our approach is comprehensive, cost-effective, physician-led and patient-focused. And all our resources are dedicated to keeping the heart healthy and treating it when it's not.

Patient-focused care is the key to the success of this hospital and others like it. Few specialized heart hospitals exist in the US, and only a handful of those are totally designed around patients, such as the Dayton Heart Hospital and its sister facilities. Twelve of those are affiliated with Dayton's newest hospital, including Heart Hospitals in:
Albuquerque, NM
Phoenix, AZ
Austin, TX
San Antonio, TX
Sioux Falls, SD
Bakersfield CA
Little Rock, AK
Lafayette, LA
Lacombe, LA
Harlingen, TX

Each of these hospitals are managed by local physicians in partnership with one of the nation's leading operators of specialized cardiology facilities, MedCath, Inc.

Designed by cardiologists and surgeons, the Dayton Heart Hospital is a three story, 47 bed facility located in Dayton at 707 S. Edwin C. Moses Boulevard. The building is new, having been specifically designed and built to offer the most recent advances in medical technology and accessibility for our patients.

At the Dayton Heart Hospital, each room is a private, self-contained intensive care unit. Equipment and medical staff come to the patient. The usual wheeling-around the hospital from one floor to another is eliminated. The same specialized cardiovascular care team can remain with the patient. Nursing staff get to know the patients better because they are likely to remain in the care of the same nursing station throughout their stay. Nurses have a chance to observe a patient's condition more closely, talk with their families, and alert doctors to changes.
